The detail on this is amazing! I love Octopi! Did you also tattoo this on the person as well as design? I can only design tats...I haven't gotten into the actual putting them on people.

Thank You! Yes, my client told me her ideas so I designed it for her and tattooed it. I did notice that you are a fellow artist for tattoojohnny.com I am unsure when exactly you came on board so if its not a bit too late, Welcome Aboard!

I've been with Tattoo Johnny for almost a year now, I think. I must be a little slow...You're that Billy Webb! I've always admired your work...especially your egyptian stuff. I think your style is one of the most unique out there and it really translates well to tattoo. I am still working on the whole conversion process. David walked me through some of the details about making tattoos---who I am eternally grateful for. I think it would help if I was also a tattooist. I see you have a website, I'll have to go check that out after I get done typing this ;)

Lol.. Yeah thats me. Dave is a good guy and very helpful. Who knows...maybe one day you will pick up a tattoo machine! I never thought I would, I just wanted to do comics but I make more money now than I ever would in the Comic Industry. I enjoy what I do and even though I have never tried to get in with the big guys of comics I don't have any regrets. If it ever happens it will be by accident because I don't have much time to work on trying, lol.

Both he and Tiffany have been so very helpful. Don't you have to apprentist before you can become a tattoo artist? I have submitted a few things to comic agencies. I wasn't accepted, but I was encourage to keep trying...and that is at least something, right? lol. I also don't have a lot of time, though I wish it was because I was doing something I liked. I work for a newspaper in the advertising dept. Not the most passionate thing I've ever done. I went to your website, very nice looking! I have been working with a friend of mine who designs websites to try and get one up for my flash and prints as well. Anyways, I think your character designs for the comic you are working on are very good and I am sure you will have quite the following! :D

I guess the apprenticeship varies depending on which state you live in. In NJ it is a 2000 hour apprenticeship. Back when I started, there were no regulations and I just kinda got thrown in and learned hands on, Bad Idea, LOL! Hey, your a giant step up from Kmart, which is where I started before tattooing. We used to get on those bouncy balls with the handle on top and race down the isles at night...Hahaaa.. I bet you create some great advertisements with the art you do but if they dont let you use your creativity at work then that sucks and they don't know what talent they have right under their nose!

Aww...You're really sweet. And no, I don't get to create the ads. I just sell ad space. My job entails driving around to local businesses and convincing them to buy ad space. It's 100% sales. lol. I'll have to ask around to my local tattoo shops on what they require for an apprentiship. It would be an excellent skill to have. Even if it was something they only let me do on my weekends, it would be at least something I would love doing for a change. Thank you for your kind words! Coming from someone I admire, they mean a lot to me!
